On Wednesday night, Bret Baier fact-checked Donald Trump’s recent claims about the Strait of Hormuz against actual ship traffic, which is something Fox News viewers have rarely seen. Retired General Jack Keane then claimed US military attacks stopped in April for political reasons, namely the midterms and rising gas prices. The segment was thorough, fact-based, fair, and genuinely tough on the administration. Does it rise to Walter Cronkite coming out against the Vietnam War? Of course not, but it does potentially mark a shift in coverage.
