President Donald Trump spoke to Trey Yingst, telling the Fox News chief foreign correspondent that if Oman gets in the way of a US military blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, We’ll bomb the “S” out of them, though one can imagine he didn’t say “S” to Yingst. Oman is a US ally, and it has been talking to Iran about reopening the Strait of Hormuz. The 60-day memorandum of understanding expired today, and the president told Fox News he isn’t in any hurry to resolve this conflict, insisting that the looming midterms have nothing to do with his thinking. Five vessels made it through the strait Saturday and none on Sunday.
